The Machine that Will Kill You

I predict humanity will be wiped out by these sorts of things one day very soon.

Dumb People Listen to Lil' Wayne

Saw this study where a guy took people's favorite music on facebook and compared it to the average sat score at their school. It is pretty funny.

When I Was Drinking

Today an English dude said to me, "Watch out sonny, smoking stunts your growth." I am pretty sure it was a joke because I am tall.

Now a video from the Germans, the traditional enemies of the British. If I am ever in Hamburg the Miniatur Wunderland will be at the top of my list of attractions to enjoy. As the video explains, it is "the largest model railway in the world and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Germany."

Now for Germany's finest musical genre, Krautrock. These are the 50 Best Albums in Krautrock according to some guy named Julian Cope. I don't totally agree with him because he does not include Can's "Future Days", but I don't have the time to compile such a list so I will cease criticizing him.

This is a video that some guy, not Julian Cope, made for Moonshake which is on Future Days and is a damn fine song. The man who made the video doesn't let the whole song play but it is more entertaining than watching a video that just has the album cover static in the background the whole song.

Le Plus Petit Zidane

Some elements of the internet at saying this kid is the next Zidane. Regardless, the kid is six years old and is already a better dribbler than I am.

And while I have now called two people Le Petit Zidane, there is actually a kid more deserving of that title because he is Zidane's son, Enzo Zidane.

I will try to write less about soccer, I promise.

Best Songs Ever #2

Led Zeppelin is a very popular band, as they should be. Some would say they are the originators of heavy metal. The song I have chosen for my second installment of 'Best Songs Ever' is neither very popular or remotely heavy metal, but this does not in any way disqualify it from being a truly incredible song. Bron-Yr-Aur lacks vocals, electric guitar, a bass, or drums. It makes up for the loss of all these with incredible song writing and acoustic guitar playing from Jimmy Page. Download it below for you pleasure or watch an impossibly young boy play it nearly perfectly.

Watch It.

DL it.

DoJ = RIAA

A post on Boing Boing about how Ol' Barack is filling up the Department of Justice with RIAA and MPAA hacks. Looks like copyright reform will have to wait for the next election cycle.

Hope you got a Lawyer

What is art and what is plagiarism? Milton Glaser (the guy who designed the I <3 NY logo, the DC Bullet, Brooklyn Brewery's B, and a ton of other shit) talks about troubling issues with Shepard Fairey's "referencing" of copy righted material.

10 Year Old She-Badass

Divorced at 10, Nujood Ali tells weirdo Arabs to fuck off. Now, I believe that all religions are pretty silly and make people do peculiar things, but Muslims have a special panache for doing some very odd stuff.

The Gentleman Peeler is Dead

Dude was a legend.

EuroSnobs

“The English for the most part desperately want soccer to fail in the US, and are both appalled and dumbfounded by the fact that it’s actually doing rather well…if we were ever to be consistently outclassed by the Yanks, that would really hurt. That would be like being beaten by your kid brother.”

Sweet interview with Steven Wells about English perspectives of American soccer. Not that anyone but myself cares about this.
